Colonel Francis "Gabby" Gabreski was an Ace in both WW2 and the Korean War, with 34 aerial combat victories. 

He flew 20 missions with the Polish 305 "Deblin" Fighter Squadron, and was commanding officer of the 56th Fighter Group among others.

He retired after 26 years in the Air Force.
