Major Hans-Ekkehard Bob was an Ace fighter pilot with the Luftwaffe during WW2.  He flew with Gruppes JG-3,  JG-51,  JG-54,  and JV-44. 

After his 60 aerial combat victories he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
